Wow, can you believe that it’s now January of 2012? Where the heck did 2011 go? I don’t know about you, but I have so many things I wanted to complete in 2011 that are still on a long list of things that need to get done. Oh well…we just do what we can and then prioritize as usual. Right?
Okay, let’s jump right into the New Year with some really powerful self-care that will positively impact your entire year. Now that you know what the 5 Universal keys to vibrant health, unlimited energy and healthy longevity are (covered in the October and November Saturday Morning Check-ups), we now have to address a very serious and essential first step to achieving your most vibrant health possible – and in turn your most vibrant business possible! Are you ready? Great! Because that step is detoxing! In today’s toxic world: air, water, food, environment, people (negative), economy (bad news hounds), you name it – our bodies are constantly being bombarded by bad stuff! Bacteria, viruses, and just plain bad energy! So what’s a smart Vivapreneur to do?
If you were on the end of the year Saturday Morning Check-up teleclass (December 31st), you know that I went into a lot of detail about how to effectively prepare for, and facilitate, a beneficial detox program. So I’m not going to go through all of that information here. Just listen to the replay if you missed it.
As I explained on the call, the first critical step in creating a new you in a new year is to clean that body of yours out! Yes, you read that right. Clean out all of the toxic waste that has accumulated, from day to day living and eating – as well as all of the holiday indulgences of everything that’s high fat and high sugar! Come on ‘fess up – you know you had more than usual of these two ingredients!
Anyway, it’s now time for some real action – and FUN – steps that will transform you and your energy from the inside out! Let’s face it! If the steps aren’t fun and easy, will we do them? Not a chance! And detoxing is so important that in my book, INSTANT E.N.E.R.G.Y.™, I have devoted a whole chapter to Detoxing for Life: what it is, how to do it, the 3 phases, how to do them step by step, ways to make it simple, easy, effective and deliciously self-indulgent, and what delicious, juicy outcomes you can expect! And let me just state clearly here that you DESERVE to LOVE and PAMPER YOURSELF on the journey to fabulous health and vitality!
Now, you can jump on over to: http://www.MarilynJoyce.com and get a comprehensive free report and invest in my comprehensive guide to great health. And personally, I’d love it if you did just that, because I know the value of everything included in INSTANT E.N.E.R.G.Y.™. But if you only want the abbreviated version for now, I have excerpted the essentials from my book to get you started right now! Just go to: http://bit.ly/cRvFmV – And pick up “Detox for Life” – my New year’s gift to you!
Cheers to 2012! And a healthy vibrant new YOU!
Much Love – See YOU Next Month!

Call – and check out the links below so that we can stay connected:
How many of you would like to attend a seminar and leave the event with $100,000 in checks from people you just met to form a Joint Venture? (without being the speaker or selling) How many would like to leave with 10 new clients or 5 new Joint Venture partners. What about being recognized from the stage 80% of the time at every live event you attend (not including your speaking gigs)
How many of you would like to have mentors and working relationships with Experts like the millionaire maker herself, Loral Langemeier or Internet guru Matt Bacak? How about Law of AttractionEexpert Marie Diamond from “The Secret” or The Shameless Promoter Debbie Allen.
Well you can! These are things that I have been able to accomplish just by simply using some rules and strategies I have set in place. Here are just a few of them that promote relationship building to build Strategic Alliances & Joint Ventures with others.
Set your intent or goal that you want to create prior to attending the event. If you don’t know what you want you can’t make it happen.
Know your ideal JV Partner: What are their values, Vision, mission and goals? Can you align yourself with them?
Know your Strengths & Weaknesses: Joint Ventures are all about leverage and give and take. You have to know what you have to offer that can enhance and compliment your potential partner and them you.
Know Your Target Market:Does you potential partner have the same market?
Be in Contribution & Collaboration: Find out what your new friend does and what their biggest challenges are and help them solve their problem. If you cant then connect them with someone who can. Connecting them to someone at the event is very powerful. Be sure to follow up with them and provide them their new resources contact info if you didn’t connect them at the event.
Be 100% Authentic and truly interested in them: Don’t talk about you! This is about them. Remember you are looking for ways to help or be in contribution with this person.
Never approach someone and say “I want to JV with YOU. This is a complete turn off. Instead ask them in a way that not only makes them feel good but tell them whats in it for them. IE: Would you be open to the possibility of being showcased as an expert to my list of 10,000 and given the opportunity to promote your new product?
Give a Live and Meaningful Testimonial: If you have worked with any of the speakers at the event you are attending then by all means feel free to give a heart felt testimonial for them. The best time to do this is toward the end or right before their offer. This is something they will remember.
DO your research before the event: Choose no more than 5 or 6 people to connect with for a two day event and no more than 2 or 3 for a one day event. Then really take the time to get to know these individuals, take them to lunch or dinner. Use your time wisely.
The Fortune is in the Follow up: We have heard this a million times yet people don’t do it. Have a follow up system in place before you go. Make sure your contact is a personalized, meaning don’t load them into an auto-responder that goes out to everyone.
BONUS: Always keep in mind that for JVs to work they have to be a win/win for both parties or they are a NO go! (win/win doesn’t necessarily mean 50/50)
BONUS: Wear the “JV with Me” Button to help draw attention and open conversation. You will be surprised at how many others are looking for partners and will ask as soon as they see your button. (find at www.simpleJvSuccess.com)
Are you ready to sign on a New JV Partner at your next event? Then I ask you to make this simple commitment.
Follow the techniques I gave you above and commit to connecting with 3 to 5 new potential partners at your next event at a deeper level then you have before and really be in contribution & collaboration with them.
Here’s my commitment to you. I love to reward those who take action! So, while you are out there making those connections, if I happen to be there, bring them back to me. I will help you create and seal the deal right on the spot FREE!

4 Strategies Guaranteed to Get You Noticed Online
Posted on June 15, 2011 by Randi
As online networking strategies become more prevalent for marketers, many businesses are struggling to get the visibility they need in order to achieve their goals. Have you ever wondered what it takes to get your business noticed online? Today I’d like to share with you four of the strategies I use that are guaranteed to produce results!
Create valuable content
The content you create must be valuable to your target audience. This sounds pretty simple but very often quality gets left behind in favor of quantity.
Begin by forming two large types of content. The first should be lead generating content such as whitepapers, ebooks and reports that are intended to solve a pain your target audience is facing and showcase you as an expert in this area. The second should be informational content that is intended to share quality, helpful information that is valuable to your target audience and will showcase your brand in a positive light. This content typically comes in the form of blog posts, articles, videos, etc.
And don’t forget that your content must speak directly to your chosen target audience! You can’t address their pains or solve their problems if you don’t know exactly who you’re talking to!
Encourage sharing
If you are going to go to the trouble of creating valuable and engaging content then it only makes sense to let others help you share it! Make sure you have a prominent RSS feed on your website/blog so those who are interested in your content can easily subscribe to it. Add Tweet buttons, Facebook “Like” buttons, “Send” buttons and “Share” buttons to your content so others can share it with their favorite networks. These are all very simple things you can do to ensure your content has the best opportunity for getting seen!
Get Social
If you haven’t done this already then it’s time for you to get social. Once you have great content and are allowing others to share it, you’ll want to begin connecting with your target audience, listening to them and sharing that value yourself! Sites like Twitter and Facebook allow you to join your target market’s community, connect with them and share information that they will find valuable. Social bookmarking sites like Digg, Delicious and Reddit are another great way to help your content get found with the right audience.
And never underestimate the importance of sharing a little of yourself as you interact in an online environment. Some of the best connections I’ve ever made were as a direct result of something personal, a quote, a sentiment or even just a kind word. Whichever sites you choose to use, you’ll want to ensure that you are there to interact and not just promote. People will be able to see through to your underlying intentions and your results will be directly proportional to how others perceive you.
Syndicate your content
Now you’re ready to begin syndicating your content! The purpose of the content you create is to educate your market, provide them with value and show them the way back to your website. That means you’ll need to send that content out and away from your website so it can act on your behalf to direct people back to your website in order to buy. Don’t just put your new white paper, case study, article or blog post up on your website and wonder why it isn’t working. Go ahead and add it to your website but then send a link to it out among your target audience. You can do this by posting a link to your content on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. You can bookmark it via Digg or Reddit. Encourage your audience to read it, share their thoughts with you, ask questions about it and get to know you a little better as a result.
There are some great tools out there that will help support your content syndication efforts and make things a bit easier. Just a few of these great tools include Posterous, which allows you to syndicate your content simply by sending an email! Networked Blogs is another great Facebook app which allows you to syndicate your blog post to your Facebook newsfeed. TubeMogul allows you to syndicate your videos out to multiple online video sites with a simple click of a button!
Technology is a wonderful thing and the tools and resources available to help with content syndication just keep coming! I’ve put together a list of over 250+ tools and resources that were designed to support you in your efforts to syndicate your content among your target audience. Click here to receive this detailed list of over 250+ tools to help with your content syndication efforts http://bit.ly/kwJVFN
Online visibility that produces results is something that can easily be achieved with the right combination of tools, tactics and strategies. Create the right content, make it easily sharable, interact with your target market online and ensure you have the right tools in place for syndicating your content. Do all of this and you’ll definitely produce results! Add consistency and passion to the mix and your job marketing yourself and your business online becomes infinitely easier and more pleasurable!

Well, here we are entering the final month of Vivapreneur Academy’s premiere edition of an amazing program. I don’t know about you, but I’m blown away by the speed with which this past 7 months has zipped by! And part of me was beginning to experience separation anxiety at the thought of not revving myself up for the monthly calls – which I absolutely loved doing! Another part of me was feeling sadness at the thought of not having to get my creative juices amped up to produce the monthly blog posts!
But stop already! What the heck am I talking about? Time for a re-frame! This past week on Facebook and Twitter, I brought up the subject of re-framing what’s not working in your life, or what may be causing you stress. This was the actual post:
“It’s not the load, it’s how you carry it.” Tammy Redmon – I loved this when I read it. Another way of saying, it’s not what happens to you that’s important, but how you relate to what happens to you. The fact is that when we change the way we look at things, the things we look at change. (Wayne Dyer). So, what is one thing in your day that you can re-frame and transform it from stressful to energizing?
Many of the comments in response to the above post centered around the theme of an attitude of gratitude. So, in reviewing this, and fully acknowledging the fact that what we focus on expands, I was reminded of the bountiful rewards we experience whenever we express deep heartfelt gratitude every day, as often as possible throughout the day…
And it became clear to me that my focus, as we complete this amazing journey together, must be the gratitude I feel for having had this opportunity to share my expertise with you from the deepest place in my heart. What a true joy this has been! And now we’re all part of the Vivapreneur Academy family. How much better can it get? J
Furthermore, the 5th Key in the “5 Keys to Unlimited Energy and Vitality” in my book, INSTANT E.N.E.R.G.Y.™, is GRATITUDE ATITITUDE (the “G” of the word ENERGY!). Remember when I outlined the 5 keys in the introductory session way back in September? Well, we’ve arrived at that part of the program already!
And on this month’s call I actually tell the story of how I arrived at this deep understanding of the value of expressing GRATITUDE each and everyday of our lives, using a very special tool, called journaling. Personally, I believe that this process helped to save my life more than twenty years ago! J
So, What’s The Theme for This Month’s Blog Post?
You guessed it!
Gratitude Attitude – What You Focus on Expands!
In my book: INSTANT E.N.E.R.G.Y.™: The 5 Keys to Unlimited Energy & Vitality, there is a wealth of information about this key, along with lots of 5-minute strategies and ideas for easily and effortlessly making the expansion of things to be grateful for in your life a reality. Check it out, along with many other great books and tools at: http://bit.ly/6My3rF. And remember that your input is very important to us. We truly do want to know what your thoughts are on anything we post. So…Just post your comments at the end of this blog…
Okay, here’s the 5 keys for March’s Gratitude Attitudemessage:
E: Exhale Fully
This month the focus for your breath work is on creating a sense of soul felt gratitude for your life – and to expand that energy within your life. As in past months, you will set aside 5 focused minutes for deep breathing in a quiet place with no interruptions. Meditation music may be used to enhance the experience. The process begins with a deep full exhalation during which you release everything that stands in the way of you experiencing joyful gratitude for your life. Then, with each inhalation, you will express, either silently within your mind, or verbally out loud, a deep gratitude for something, someone, or some experience that you truly appreciate in your life right now. Then with each exhalation, you will express the letting go of something, someone, or some experience that is not serving your spirit well right now.
You can repeat the same things over and over. Or go through a series of different things. Here’s an example of a couple of things I personally expressed. As I exhaled fully I expressed: “I release all of the pain, struggle and perceived opposition in my life that stops me from connecting with the deep wisdom of my soul.” With my inhalation: “I am filled with gratitude for the sisterhood I feel with my dearest girlfriends, and within our unique Vivapreneur Academy community.” With my exhalation: “I release any frustration I have felt due to my perception of their lack of follow-through with commitments.” Inhale: “I am grateful for the ability to do the work I am passionate about. “ Exhale: “I release any sense of perfectionism that has acted as a block to getting my work done.” Does that give you an idea of the process to be used to expand the gratitude in your life? Enjoy the process…J
N: Nutrition Excellence Daily
This month the objective is for you to become completely mindful of the fact that you have an abundance of healthy, delicious, natural, whole food at your fingertips. So before eating anything, express gratitude for the foods and beverages you are about to consume. It may be in the form of a prayer, to God, the Universe, the angels, Mother earth, or to whatever resonates within you. Or it may simply be the expression of the words: “Thank you for the foods and beverages I’m about to enjoy.” And then fully experience and enjoy every single bite. Of course, select the healthiest foods possible (quality versus quantity) – and express gratitude for their availability in your life!
E: Exercise for Cellular Rejuvenation
We have so much natural beauty in the world to be grateful for. It always surprises me when I hear people complain about mountains obstructing their view, or about heavy rain clouds filling the skies with darkness in the middle of the day. So, this month, your assignment is to schedule at least 3 short walks in a natural environment, come rain or come shine. In a city it may be a local park. In the country it may be a field, a stream or a river, or a hillside.
As you walk, pay deliberate attention to the beauty around you. Are there new buds starting to burst open on the trees? Are birds chirping their unique and beautiful melodies? What little animals or bugs are making their way along the same path you’re on? Is a gentle breeze caressing your face or tossing your hair aimlessly to and fro? What unique artistic patterns and colors have the clouds provided for your viewing pleasure? What is the mystery that manifests in the heavy dark storm clouds? For each of these gifts, presented to you by Mother Nature, express a deep heartfelt sense of gratitude. Watch how your spirit soars throughout this process…
R: Rest, Relax, Rejuvenate, and Meditate
This month, the project is very simple. Rent or gather together 2 or 3 great comedies – or Spiritual Cinema Movies (http://bit.ly/e9fjUF). Invite your closest and dearest friends and/or family (people you are deeply grateful for in your life) over to your home for an evening or a weekend afternoon. You can make it a potluck meal or snacks, as this adds to the blessings for which to express gratitude. When everyone has come together, and before any food is consumed, or movies viewed, facilitate a prayer of gratitude for the foods and beverages you’re about to consume, the movies you’re about to watch, and for their presence in your home and in your life, with perhaps one word for each person present, that you feel best describes the quality that person brings to your life. Invite each person to do the same for each person in the room. When that is completed, rest, relax, and rejuvenate with those people who are dear to your heart, in an environment that you love, watching DVD’s that simply wipe the stress right out of you! Ahhh…
G: Gratitude Attitude
Being a real advocate of gratitude journaling – and knowing firsthand the amazing positive potential this process can have in your life – I have established the focus this month to be the full utilization of an actual physical paper journal. You must physically hand-write in your journal, after dating the entry, a minimum of 5 things each day that you are grateful for. Do this either first thing in the morning before getting out of bed, or just prior to sleep at night. Yes, this is a repeat. However, by this point in time, this whole process should have much greater significance and meaning in your life than when we first discussed it. I always recommend looking for a journal with a cover that will inspire you to pick it up and write in it each and every day. What you focus on expands – so the more often you actually journal the better the results will be in your life! Wishing you lots of Happy Journaling… J
Y: Your 5 Keys!
As I’ve stated each month before, it’s your journey…what works for you is a very personal experience – YOUR own very personal experience. So have a great month as you take 5 minutes throughout your day to express gratitude in the various ways outlined above.
And remember to take a few minutes and stop by Facebook at http://www.Facebook.com/DrMarilynJoyce, click on LIKE at the top of the page. You’ll then have access to my (almost) daily Fast Healthy Tips, videos, quotes, and our fascinating conversations.
You know, whenever I start working with a new client or patient, I find myself making the same statement to them that I have made a thousand – perhaps a “few” thousand – times before: You have to take 5 now to save 5 later. And yes, they stare at me with glassy eyes as if I am some alien who has dropped down from outer space – and speaks a different language. What exactly am I talking about? What that means simply is: Take 5 MINUTES now, to save 5 YEARS later! And yes, they still stare at me in disbelief…And then exclaim loudly that there is no way they can take time out with all of the responsibilities they have.
Sorry…been there, said that! And it almost killed me. Hard lesson to learn – especially for women! Being the primary caregivers in every aspect of our lives, we get caught up in the idea that everyone else’s needs come first. Well you know the whole drill on an airplane? Put your own oxygen mask on first so you can then help your children and anyone else who needs help with theirs. If you regret to take care of your own mask first – oops…sorry, but you’ll be a gonner! And then unfortunately you won’t be here to take care of anyone else! So, take time out for you now, so that you’ll be here to take care of those you love and cherish tomorrow, and to enjoy them fully in the process!
What’s The Theme for This Month’s Blog Post?
Take 5 (Minutes) Before You’re Forced to Take 5 (Years)!
Rest, Relax, Rejuvenate & Meditate
Remember a couple of months ago when I told you that my theme for 2011 is: I’m in 7th Heaven in 2011! And my definition for 7th Heaven is: Blissful Happiness! J
Well, my belief and philosophy is that you can’t get to blissful happiness without time out to reconnect to spirit. I mean after all, don’t we think of 7th Heaven as a spiritual place – a place of reflection, of peace and calm, a place beyond all of the challenges of this physical world, a place to regroup, relax, rejuvenate and meditate? So, that’s what I’m suggesting (strongly) that you do… it literally saved my life! But I don’t want you to get to that place where it’s a matter of life and death!
And as you know by now, I’m not advocating long stretches of time spent in silence. 5 Minutes! That’s all! After all I am the expert on healthy 5-minute strategies that can be done anywhere, anytime, by anyone. So why would this be an exception? J Yes, you can spend longer if you want to – and have time to do so! For now, I just want you to commit to 5 minutes. And I am providing a link (http://www.box.net/shared/0m7gfeadjn) to a wonderful short meditation, right out of my book: INSTANT E.N.E.R.G.Y.™: The 5 Keys to Unlimited Energy & Vitality! The publisher has made it impossible for me to copy and paste the page, so I’ll just make it easy for everyone to get it with this link.
Now remember that your input is very important to us. And we truly do want to know what your thoughts are on anything we post. So…Just post your comments at the end of this blog…
So, Find a Quiet Spot with No Distractions…
& Sit Your Tushy Down for Some Precious “Me” Time
As I stated before, I cover a lot of information on the Saturday Morning Check-ups with Dr Marilyn Joyce. But there is absolutely no way possible to include the wealth of strategies I carry in my extensive healthy whole person (Body-Mind-Spirit) toolkit. So, please take a few minutes and stop by http://www.Facebook.com/DrMarilynJoyce, click on LIKE at the top of the page. You’ll then have access to my (almost) daily Fast Healthy Tips, videos, and quotes.
And again, in case you’re interested in delving much more deeply into all of this, I have several chapters in my book, INSTANT E.N.E.R.G.Y.™ (at: http://www.MarilynJoyce.com/book.html), devoted to the information and various processes I discussed on the call this month. This particular aspect of whole person living and instant energy strategies are key to my philosophy for living an abundantly energetic life in every way possible. J
Okay, here’s the 5 keys for February’s Rest, Relax, Rejuvenate message:
E: Exhale Fully
This month the focus for breath work is the incorporation of music. I like to find music for my patients and clients that inspires them to breathe deeply, as they relax and listen. In this Meditation Music For the Mind (link below), there is a drumbeat in the background that lends itself to slowly breathing deeply into the abdomen to a count of 4 and then slowly out to a count of 4. Remember to exhale fully before beginning this meditation. It is 5 minutes long, so just sit in a comfortable cross-legged position on the floor, or in your office chair with your back straight and your feet flat on the floor, arms and hands relaxed by your sides – and begin…
I think most of us are aware of certain foods that just don’t sit well in our bodies. Indigestion sets in – or worse, heartburn. The trigger may be something fried, or perhaps a rich dessert. That’s something we can easily correct by simply avoiding these foods as a general rule. However, there are times when your diet has been impeccable – and you still develop these uncomfortable, maybe even painful symptoms. So, how did this happen? Nine times out of ten it is related to the build up of stress, throughout the day with no release prior to eating or drinking. And believe me, I see this a lot in my practice!
You see, where there is stress in your body there is no flow. No flow, no go – of the metabolic functions! What’s the solution? After a stressful day in the office, or with the kids, or whatever, STOP everything – and take 5 (minutes) before you eat or drink a single thing! Use the meditation outlined above, and just breathe deeply for 5 minutes. I guarantee you’ll feel the difference.
E: Exercise for Cellular Rejuvenation
So what exercise can you do to rejuvenate your body on a cellular level that also incorporates the aspect of time out? Well, let’s face it…yoga is one common practice that will achieve this. But let’s be more innovative here. I strongly believe that connection with nature is the most cellular rejuvenating thing we can do. Go for a walk in the woods, or hike up a steep hill or mountain. Don’t have anything like this near you, or can’t get away to do that? Then find a park close by and walk around the park. If the weather is warm, take your shoes off and really feel the grass under your feet. If it’s too cold where you are to do that, at least stop and listen to the sounds of nature all around you. Believe it or not, even in city parks there are such sounds. You may just have to listen a little more attentively than if you were out in the country.
R: Rest, Relax, Rejuvenate, and Meditate
I realize that for many of you this continues to be the most challenging step to take. Has it gotten any easier for you over the past couple of months? Hopefully your answer to this question is YES! And, believe it or not, this process can be as simple as just staring out of your office window for 5 minutes and just gazing at the view. No view? Look up – and check out the view in the sky! Today, for example, after dealing with a challenging situation, I realized I needed a quick break, but only had 5 minutes between appointments. I looked out the window of my office and there before my eyes, was the most beautiful formation of a heart I have ever seen. You guessed it! It was a white, billowy, fluffy, and incredibly majestic cloud that I was convinced was created for my own personal viewing. And view it I did! For 5 magnificent minutes…my entire day was shifted from a fragmented lack of focus to a place of centered calm. And of course, my productivity soared!
G: Gratitude Attitude
How did you make out with the gratitude statement last month? What a huge impact it has made in my own life with my new gratitude statement posted everywhere I go. I even carry a copy in my purse, so that it’s with me at all times. This month I am going to suggest being more mindful of what you have to be grateful for. What that means is that when you are confronted with a challenging situation, you just stop everything and – you guessed it! – take 5 (minutes). Think of one thing that you feel a deep sense of gratitude for in your life right now. Maybe it’s your life partner, or your best friend, a completed project, or a magnificent heart-shaped cloud formation that appeared before your very eyes. And then spend time feeling and deeply internalizing your genuine gratitude for this gift. As we all know by now, what we focus on expands. So, enjoy this delicious expansion…
I’d like to share one of my favorite quotes with you, that always reminders me of just how significant the practice of gratitude can be:
“What if you gave someone a gift, and they neglected to thank you for it – would you be likely to give them another? Life is the same way. In order to attract more of the blessings that life has to offer, you must truly appreciate what you already have.” ~Ralph Marston
Y: Your 5 Keys!
As I’ve said before, it’s your journey…what works for you is a very personal experience – YOUR own very personal experience. So have a great month as you take 5 (minutes) now to save 5 (years) later! And remember, that means to Rest, Relax, Rejuvenate & Meditate… J
Okay, is anyone else challenged by the fact that we are now into the first month of 2011? When I entered my 7th decade of life on this planet this past May, I simply had no comprehension of how quickly the past 8 months would flit by…but flit by they did. Of course we can’t get caught up in that whole dramatic perspective of living, as it will definitely divert us away from simply living each and every day to the fullest, with our Vivapreneur mission at the forefront of everything we be, do and have…
What’s Your Theme for 2011?
So, first off, how many of you have created a theme for 2011? If you have been following me at all on Facebook and Twitter, you know that I am a serious advocate for creating this foundation for your year. Last year my theme was: “I’m in the Zen in 2010” – and I can assure you that this was the smartest intention I ever set! As I mentioned in a previous blog post, setting a calming theme in place prior to the year’s unfoldment, was perhaps the most challenging and yet most logical, realistic and important step I could have taken. It was the foundation for an inner sense of peace, balance and calm I would not otherwise have experienced I’m sure.
Well this year I created a theme to again set the tone, as well as open the channels, for a foundation of blissful happiness, regardless of what circumstances life throws my way. Do I hear you asking: what’s the theme? Are you ready? The theme is: I’m in 7th Heaven in 2011! And my definition for 7th Heaven is, you guessed it, Blissful Happiness! J
I guess you figured out that I love things that rhyme! Just makes it easier to remember. And as long as it fits with my intentions, goals, visions and dreams, then that’s how I create my themes, affirmations, and intentions. I’d love to hear what your theme is for the year – what inspired it, and how you went about creating it. Just post your comments at the end of this blog…
So, Get Off Your Seat and Onto Your Feet!
In the December call we discussed the balancing of our inner terrain; that’s the inside environment of our precious bodies! It’s all the things we put inside our living organism: water, food, and supplements. To build on that theme and add to it the essential body movement component, this month’s call explored various quick and easy fitness strategies that take 5 minutes or less each day. And though we think of exercise and fitness as an outside job, the fitness strategies I teach my clients and patients also embody the aspect of cellular rejuvenation – from the inside out. So, the theme for this month is what else but: Fit In Fitness: The Easy, Fun and Most Effective Way!
Though I cover a lot of information on the Saturday Morning Check-ups with Dr Marilyn Joyce, there is no way possible to include the wealth of strategies I carry in my extensive healthy whole person (Body-Mind-Spirit) toolkit. So, why not stop on by http://www.Facebook.com/DrMarilynJoyce, click on LIKE at the top of the page, and then you’ll have access to my (almost) daily Fast Healthy Tips, videos, and quotes.
By the way, I just wanted to let you know that I also have an entire chapter in my book, INSTANT E.N.E.R.G.Y.™ (at: http://www.MarilynJoyce.com/book.html), devoted to Fitting in Fitness in 5-minute chunks. It was one of the most fun chapters to write, because I wrote it as I did the exercises myself. J
Now, here’s the 5 keys for January’s Fit in Fitness message:
E: Exhale Fully
As I have stated on some of the calls, the practice of yoga is a wonderful way to learn how to breathe properly. And ironically the first position of the 12 in the Sun Salutation (included in the Fit in Fitness chapter in my book), is the “exhale fully” breath. And then the whole set of movements incorporates breathing deeply in and then breathing out deeply. In case you need a little guidance, I have found a link to a video that is just over 5 minutes long and takes you through the Classic Sun Salutation, with the exhalation first. Many Western teachers do not begin correctly with this initial exhalation.
N: Nutrition Excellence Daily
So to really get your body ready for maximum results from the 5-minute chunks of exercise throughout your day, you want to start your day by revving up your peristaltic system with a hot lemon drink as soon as you get up in the morning. To about 10 oz of hot (not boiling) water, add the juice of 1 small fresh lemon, 1 teaspoon of pure maple syrup, and about 1/8th teaspoon of cayenne pepper. Sip on this slowly as you gently prepare yourself for the day ahead. Apart from getting things moving inside your body – if you get my drift here! – this drink will also energize you in readiness for the Sun Salutation. Remember to keep it light – foods and beverages – before you exercise. After you exercise, replenish your body’s reserves enjoying one of the many delicious smoothies in the smoothie chapter in INSTANT E.N.E.R.G.Y.™.
E: Exercise for Cellular Rejuvenation
According to NASA, there is no exercise ever devised by man that compares to the rebounder. I’ve been an advocate and devotee for more than 21 years. Why? Because one of the primary benefits of bouncing up and down on a rebounder (called the Health Bounce) is that it is the most effective way to stimulate and detoxify the lymphatic system and boost your immune system. Just 2 minutes on a rebounder will boost your immune function. On the Saturday Morning Check-up I covered many other benefits. But the most important thing to remember is that your lymphatic system is the sewer system of your body, and your body is the pump. Rebounding stimulates the lymphatic system to: 1) ensure the elimination of toxins in your body and 2) allow critical nutrients to be brought to every cell throughout your entire body.
Rebounding rejuvenates your body, gives you energy and makes you look younger. It’s known to strengthen every cell, joint, capillary, vein, organ and bone, as well as tissue and skin. And rebounding reduces body fat, which is a real plus for any of us who are menopausal. Plus the increased G-force strengthens the musculoskeletal system, which means that it supports the development and maintenance of strong bones, a very significant factor for all of our Vivapreneurs. J How’s all of that for a fun and easy exercise that works on the cellular level?
My favorite rebounders are produced by ReboundAir (http://www.reboundair.com – 888-464-5867). Why? Because, apart from the longevity of the company (everyone else copies them!), they have the most durably build mini-trampolines out there, their price for the quality is unbeatable, and the lifetime warranty is a winner in my books! And I’ll be honest, I became an affiliate with them because of all of those factors, and I recommend them to everyone I know. So I’d appreciate it if you mentioned my name. Thank you in advance. J
R: Rest, Relax, Rejuvenate, and Meditate
How are you doing with this specific key to energy and vitality? Maybe you’re still struggling to take time out of your busy day and just be silent? Well, since the theme this month is movement, the practice for this month is to get off your seat and onto your feet, and go for a 5 or 10-minute walk around the block – or into the surrounding fields – whatever you happen to have outside your own door or your office building. And as you do, make it a walk of reflection and contemplation. Listen to the birds if there are any birds where you are. Really drink in the colors of the environment. Whether it is snowy white, or tropical green, or hazy brown…Consciously choose to see the beauty in all that surrounds you. Step consciously, slowly and deliberately, paying attention to each foot as it hits the ground. Just be in a space of appreciation for this quiet private time shared between you and your environment. Your body, mind and spirit will love you for it!
G: Gratitude Attitude
So this month, in the Gratitude department, I recommend that you to either craft a personal gratitude statement, or do some research online and find a quote, prayer, poem, or statement of gratitude that resonates with you. Then on your computer create a page with this statement of gratitude, and write it in a font style and color that feels (to you) like a hand written, albeit neatly hand written, note. And then what I do is print this statement onto a sheet of paper that has a beautiful border, that’s appealing to my eye. Print off several copies. Post them wherever you might exercise, or prepare for exercise – your home gym, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, or office (this may just inspire some desk exercises J). That way, you can read it often while you are doing your fitness routine, or getting ready for it. And as we know by now, what we focus on expands. Hooray for expansion of more things to be grateful for!
So have a great month fitting in fitness the easy, fun and most effective way!
As I listen to the heavy pounding of the rain forcing itself upon the very recently parched earth of my home’s surrounding desert grounds, I am experiencing incredible gratitude for my warm cozy home, delicious healthy holiday food, a truly fulfilling professional – and personal – life, and most of all, YOU!
Nothing even remotely compares to the joy I’m experiencing as I participate in this opportunity to share with you my expertise, and my myriad of strategies, tools, ideas and recommendations that have made my life – and the lives of my patients, clients and seminar attendees globally – so incredibly energized, rewarding, robust and healthy on all levels: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. My only hope is that you are gaining at least a 10th as much from this experience as I am! Because that would be a ton!! J
Can you believe that we are about to leave this year, 2010, and enter into a new year, now more than a decade into this new century? I don’t know about you, but it feels like a blink of an eye ago that we celebrated the New Year of 2010!
Well, without question we want to enter into this coming year with absolutely the highest degree of vibrant health and unstoppable energy! Right? The truth is that I had all kinds of things I was going to send to you in this blog – and then it became clear to me that a report – that you could download and forever refer to in future years – would be the most logical gift to give you at this time of year. So that’s exactly what I have created for you. This brief, but comprehensive, report outlines the challenges we face over the holiday season, followed by very easy, simple, practical and fun solutions. Believe me, if I can do them, anyone can! J

Also, don’t forget to listen to the replay of our December 4th call so that you will be up to speed for our January 8th call – Saturday Morning Check-Up with Dr Marilyn Joyce. And remember to leave your feedback, comments, suggestions and ideas in the space provided below. We need your input in order to insure that we are fulfilling your needs and expectations…
Wow, can you believe that we are now well into the month of November 2010? Doesn’t it just take your breath away that we are less than 2 weeks away from the US Thanksgiving weekend? I am personally in a state of disbelief! How about you?
Interestingly, my theme for this year has been: “I’m in the Zen in 2010” – and I can assure you that setting that theme in place just prior to 2010 was the smartest intention I ever set! In the face of the global economic shift, coupled with the personal life/business/relationship evaluations and shifts everyone I know is going through, setting in place a calming theme was perhaps the most challenging and yet most logical, realistic and important step I could have taken in order to create, maintain and expand an inner sense of peace, balance and calm.
Despite the many planned, but as yet unfinished, projects over the past 12 months, I have accomplished more inner and outer work than in many past years combined. So many gifts have come my way that have assisted in maintaining and expanding this sense of “zen” in every aspect of my life! And breathing has been such a HUGE aspect of this process. Which brings us to the theme of this month: Master Your Breath – Master Your Life!
Okay on September 30th we addressed Body-Mind-Spirit (B-M-S) Whole Person Health: 5 Keys to Unlimited Energy & Vitality – and we discussed how to “Transform Your Stress into Unlimited Energy!” Why not stop on by http://www.Facebook.com/DrMarilynJoyce, click on LIKE at the top of the page, and then click on the tab at the top of the page entitled: Free Report – and get a copy of my special report on exactly how to go about transforming your stress into energy – instantly? Life is way too short to be stressing out, when you can be energized and enjoying life on every level instead! Don’t you agree?
Then on October 4th’s Saturday Morning Check-up with Dr Marilyn Joyce, we addressed that essential first step to achieving your most vibrant health possible – Detoxification!
Now that you’re all cleaned out, it’s time to learn how to breathe. Yes, I know that everyone thinks they know how to breathe! But unfortunately that thing most of us do that we call breathing is barely able to sustain a mouse far less our amazing living organism called a body! On the Saturday Morning Check-up call for this month (November), we’re looking at all aspects of breathing: the what, the why, the where, and the how-to. You’ll be amazed by the list of benefits your body will enjoy just from learning how to breathe fully and completely.
Great news: as with Detox, I have devoted a whole chapter in my book, INSTANT E.N.E.R.G.Y.™ (at: http://www.MarilynJoyce.com/book.html), to Breathing. Plus various strategies are provided throughout the book that will assist you with easily incorporating deep breathing effortlessly throughout your day so that you’ll both, consciously and unconsciously, improve and enhance your personal breathing processes. And before you know it, people will be asking you what your secret is to your incredible health, unlimited energy, and unstoppable vitality! How do I know this? Because it happens to me everyday!
Now, you can jump on over to: http://www.MarilynJoyce.com and get yet another free report and invest in my comprehensive guide to great health. And I’d love it if you did just that, because I know the value of everything included in INSTANT E.N.E.R.G.Y.™. But if you only want the abbreviated version for now, I have excerpted the essentials from my book to get you started right now! Just go to: http://www.box.net/shared/gk2h57cnih
Now, the 5 keys for November’s Master Your Breath message:
E: Exhale Fully
Remember that the first step to effective life-enhancing breathing is to exhale fully and completely through your mouth. Then the simplest process for learning how to breathe deeply and slowly is the “breathe and count” system. Just breathe in slowly, through your nose, to a count of 4 (count in your head: 1 and 2 and 3 and 4). Then hold your breath for a count of 4. Finally, slowly release the breath, through your mouth, to a count of 4. Repeat the process for 5 minutes. Feel a delicious deep sense of calm permeating your entire being. Ahhhhh…
N: Nutrition Excellence Daily
The healthiest cultures on the planet place their greatest emphasis on a plant-based diet. And for good reason! Chlorophyll, a substance responsible for the green color in plants, enhances your body’s ability to uptake oxygen from the air. In turn, all of your body’s metabolic processes are more efficient and effective in energy consumption and production. Some valuable sources of chlorophyll include: alfalfa, broccoli, beet greens, Brussels sprouts, green peppers, kale, leeks, mustard greens, spinach, Swiss chard, and turnip greens. And raw is always best!
E: Exercise for Cellular Rejuvenation
Look for a labyrinth (an ancient symbol, used as a tool for meditation and prayer, that relates to wholeness, and represents a journey to our own center and back out again out into the world) and use the process of walking it as a means of reconnecting to your breath at the deepest level possible. And to maximize the experience, focus on breathing in with one step and then out with the next step. Remember to take very slow deliberate steps, moving forward through each step from the placement of your heel onto the ground first, rolling the foot forward until you are on your toes ready to push off into the next step. Then step forward into the placement of your other foot, moving through the same process. And remember to breathe deeply with each step…
R: Rest, Relax, Rejuvenate, and Meditate
Are you still struggling to take time out of your busy day and just be silent? That means, doing absolutely nothing – except breathing! No reading, no TV, no knitting or sewing, no phone conversations… I have found a really delicious way to handle this on days when activity is the name of the game – and my brain won’t shut down for even a minute. It’s called gamma meditation. You can google gamma meditation videos and just use one of those for 5 minutes – or look into the Gamma Meditation System by Dr Jeffrey Thompson. I have done both. And for the greatest effectiveness, I have found that a good stereo headset is recommended. Again, remember to breathe, in to a count of 4 (count: 1 and 2 and 3 and 4), hold to a count of 4 and release to a count of 4. No excuses! Just do it!! Your body, mind and spirit will thank you.
G: Gratitude Attitude
Okay, this is a repeat of last month! Why? Because this is definitely one habit that can positively change your life forever in every way! Stop everything and write – in your Gratitude Journal. Everyday write at least 5 gratitudes addressing the positive changes you’re experiencing, and all of the great surprises and gifts that are showing up in your life. Then, with each gratitude, take the time to slowly breathe in (to a count of 4) the gratitude experience, hold your breath (4-count) as you fully embody your experience of this gratitude, and then exhale (4-count) as you release your thank you to God and the universe. Repeat this breathing process with each of the 5 gratitudes. Your spirit will thank you!
Y: Your 5 Keys!
Remember, it’s your journey – and what works for you is a very personal experience – YOUR very personal experience. So have a great month mastering your breath so that you can master your life!
As the U.S. economy continues to stumble along, small business owners are searching for low-cost and no-cost ways to promote their businesses and get their name in front of potential customers. “Even with talk about a recovering economy, businesses are still watching every penny,” says Drew Gerber, CEO of Wasabi Publicity, Inc., a boutique PR firm in North Carolina.
PR is a perfect way for small business owners and profesionals to get attention and attract new customers. “Nothing has people knocking on your door like PR,” says Gerber. “Most companies know this, but not all have the budget to hire a PR firm. The good news is you don’t have to.”
That’s because there are so many free or low-cost ways to get PR via the Internet. It’s never been easier to practice your own public relations. But it takes time and effort on your part. Here are eight frugal PR tools you can use to launch your own public relations effort.
1. PRWebis a low-cost news release submission and distribution service used by many small firms. News and press releases distributed via PRWeb raise your online visibility where millions of people are searching for information. When you submit your news releases to PRWeb, they will be indexed by search engines such as Google, sent to news sites such as Yahoo! News and placed into RSS feeds with more than 250,000 subscribers that include bloggers, journalists and consumers.
PRWeb also helps you build back links and inbound links from other premium sites, one of the most important assets to build your website’s credibility in search engines. All of this helps drive traffic by helping people find you online and click through to your website. One of the best parts about PRWeb is all of the free help available on the site. Look in the “Tools & Tips” section for advice on how to write a good press release, common press release mistakes, best practices for online news releases, how to format your news release and more.
2. Free Press Release lets you submit releases at no charge. The basic service provides free distribution to Google News and other popular search engines. If you register (still free) you have additional capabilities to log into your account, monitor your release, and delete it. A more expansive paid service is also available.
3. Another free press release distribution service called 1888PressRelease.comsends your releases to search engines, news wires and websites. For a modest fee, you can upgrade to wider distribution. You can also attach files, logos or images to your press release if you want.
4. PitchRate.com is a free service that connects journalists with topic experts – such as small business owners – for free media coverage. Basically, it’s a place where you can get free media leads. PitchRate also offers helpful (free) information on how to get free publicity, PR tips, personal branding ideas and more. It sponsors regular free “PR Happy Hour” conference calls that let you talk live with marketing and PR experts, ask questions and get free advice.
5. For a free list of local newspapers and other publications in any area of the country, as well as Canada and a few other countries check out a site called US Newspaper List at www.usnpl.com. For a fee you can purchase and download a spreadsheet or mailing address label file for all of the U.S. newspapers listed on the site – about 3,900. Information is updated quarterly.
6. PRnewswire.com and Businesswire.com are the two largest news release distribution services used by major companies and organizations. These services are more expensive than others, but even if you don’t use their paid services you can learn a lot by seeing what kinds of releases other companies are issuing. You can view releases for free at the site, with hundreds issued daily.
7. Enhanced Online News (EON), a new service from BusinessWire, is a terrific way to turn a basic press release into an interactive web page with all kinds of cool bells and whistles, including images (such as your logo) and video. Cost is $195 and includes lifetime hosting of your online press release and up to three photos and videos. See the site for live examples.
8. If don’t already have a logo for your business, it will help your PR effort to get one. Logoease.comis a site that helps you create a logo for free in little time. Logoease provides you the different electronic files for both web and print use of your logo. You can download as many as 10 free logo designs at any one time. Or for a low-cost logo (under $50) designed by a pro try LogoNerds.com.
Business.com is the premier B2B online destination where millions of small business owners find the products, services and solutions they need for their businesses every day. Copyright 2010, Business.com, all rights reserved.

The 5 keys – October’s Detox message:
E: Exhale Fully
Exhale through your mouth, completely releasing all of the trapped toxic air that has built up in your body from day to day stress, and just simply living in our toxic world. Then fully inhale clean purifying air, visualizing this air streaming throughout your entire body revitalizing every cell in your body with life-giving oxygen. Feel extreme vitality surging from the depths of the cellular level, pulsating throughout your entire being.
N: Nutrition Excellence Daily
Put nothing in your mouth during your detox program that is not from a plant source. And make it from as close to the raw state as possible. Use a blender or Vita-Mix machine to insure that what you consume is truly from whole food sources, with nothing thrown out. Fiber is essential – so only whole food juicing is acceptable!
E: Exercise for Cellular Rejuvenation
Rebounding on a mini-trampoline is the only easy and scientifically proven way I know of to insure detoxification of your lymphatic system, and to create optimal health starting at the cellular level – without undue strain on your hip, knee and ankle joints! Especially critical as we approach years beyond our mid-thirties!
R: Rest, Relax, Rejuvenate, and Meditate
I know I’m like a broken record on this subject! There are simply no acceptable excuses for not taking time out! Just stop everything right now and take 5! 5 minutes that is! A really wonderful CD that I use and actually carry on my website (www.MarilynJoyce.com) because of its incredible simplicity of use is: the 5 Minute Hour by Maria Kostelas. When I play this CD at seminars, I watch women – and men – completely transform from angry, frustrated, toxic energy vessels of victimhood to fully relaxed and positively centered, caring and compassionate beings.
G: Gratitude Attitude
Stop everything and write! In your Gratitude Journal that is… Everyday, during your detox program, write at least 5 gratitudes that address the positive changes you’re experiencing. And PLEASE, no complaining and no focus on what you don’t like about the process. Get over yourself and all your negative conditioning – and focus on what feels good, and what’s great about the whole journey. Your spirit will LOVE you for it!
Y: Your 5 Keys!
Remember, as I stated last month, it’s your journey – and what works for you is a very personal experience – YOUR very personal experience. So have a great month cleaning out your unique physical vessel with your own personal 5-key process…
